Type IV: Written Page

Throughout my research of typography I found that yes there were a lot of recurring tendencies for instance in board graphic typography there are styles and stages that these styles go from one to the next, like more illustrative script type to more digital sans serif type. After deciding that board graphic typography was more of an application of typography rather than a specific area of typography I started to look at three-dimensional typography. Both computer generated and physically dimensional type. And what I found is that there is a lot of interesting tests and experimentation going on with three-dimensional typography and creating illusions with painted type that was in a three-dimensional space but when looked at the right angle it looks two-dimensional! This type of typography is called anamorphic typography and Axel PeeMoller designed a parking garage direction sign system using only typgraphy.  I think that this is important because he uses the capabilities of illusion to guide the viewer through the garage and help get he/she to where they are going.
