Type IV: Conference

Conference Description:
The conference will encompass a wide range of three-dimensional typography experiments along with the effects of how distortion and perspective play a role in typography. It will include a few workshops staged with professionals to help teach new techniques in the distortion of three-dimensional typography, and help guide you into your own experimentations. Also featured at the conference will be lectures from designers such as Oded Ezer, Karina Peterson and Marcus Shaefer, along with break sessions with food and beverages provided. Come and enjoy a new typographic experience in dimensionality.

Short Bio:
Oded Ezer (b. 1972) is an Israeli typographer, type designer, artist and lecturer. He graduated at the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design, Jerusalem, with a Bachelor degree in Visual Communication Design (1998). In 200, Ezer founded his own independent studio, "Oded Ezer Typography", in Givatayim, Israel. In 2002 he co-founded the first cooperative of Israeli font designers, called "Ha'Gilda" (The Guild). He teaches typography and graphic design in several academies in and outside Israel, amoung them at the Bezalel Academy for Art & Design, Jerusalem, at the Shenkar College of Engineering near Tel Aviv, and at the Wizo College of Design, Haifa. While constantly working as a commercial designer, Oded also runs experimental typo/art projects, where he explores non-conventional solutions in Hebrew typography. His posters and graphic works has been showcased and published worldwide. Oded has won local and international prizes, including the Gold Prize at the international design comeptition of the Nagoya Design Center, Japan (2000); Certificate of Excellence at the 4th annual competition of the New York Type Directors Club and Certificate of Excellence at the "Bukva raz", a type design competition, Moscow, Russia (both 2001), and the Israeli Education Ministry Prize for Design (2003). credited: http://www.posterpage.ch/exhib/ex112eze.htm
